Site Context: The building planning and evolution makes use of the immediate site context to its advantage as much as possible.
At presentm the immediate East in relation to and vicinity of the Building is marked by other High-Rise buildings, thus calling for a privacy requisite from this face.
In Contrast, the West side is completely open and free of obstruction. Likewise, the North is marked by distant views of the Railway Line and green fields.
In the South, the site offers avenues of the City View and Adjacent Park.
Utilising this site context as an opportunity and putting it into design consideration, the building aka The Edge is oriented such that its East facade enables privacy from the adjacent high-rise buildings; while offering views on other three sides.
Typical Layout: Utilising a 2-to-a-core layout, The Edge offers two types of units, each being 3 sides open - with abundant natural light and ventilation as well as views of greens and the city.
Besides enabling energy efficiency, the 2-to-a-core planning also ensures that there is enough ground coverage left available for parking of 30 Units.
The building form has been evolved to enable each unit to be truly independent and enjoy a private balcony, as opposed to connected running balconies. This has been achieved by creating bay windows in each unit that offer views in three directions and act as a barrier between two adjacent balconies.
